CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 298(RLS) An Act relating to the                         
compensation and benefits only of certain public employees not                 
covered by collective bargaining agreements and certain officials not          
covered by collective bargaining agreements; specifying that this Act          
may not be construed as legislative authorization to fund the                  
monetary terms of a collective bargaining contract; limiting the effect        
of a fiscal note for this Act; and providing for an effective date             
which had been held in second reading (page 3573) was before the               
Senate.                                                                        
                                                                               
Senators Elton, Adams, Lincoln, Ellis, Hoffman offered Amendment               
No. 1 :                                                                         
                                                                               
Page 3, line 7, is amended to read:                                            
	in (a) of this section, as increased under (e) of this section,               
are increased by ¦twoá three                                               
                                                                               
Page 4, line 11, is amended to read:                                           
	status on July 1, 2000, are entitled to receive a lump sum                    
payment of up to ¦$800á $1200,                                             
                                                                               
Senator Elton moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1.                       
Objections were heard.
